Follow-up for your own course : evaluation and adjustments
Ask your students about their experiences at the end of your course, so you can adjust it.
That is why we want to give you the following tips:
- Start small, so you can already evaluate and adjust after a short cycle. Test your course as soon as possible with a (small) pilot group. Possibly make use of a prototype (small part of a course in which the most critical modules are developed). (Source : ELEC)
- Thank your students for their feedback and let them know which changes you made.
- You can evaluate your course in several different ways, for example by means of:
- tests (to check if your student really has learned something)
- observation (to see if the students apply what they have learned)
- figures (for example: increasing number of students)
- You can evaluate your course on several quality aspects:
- content: is everything complete and correct?
- language: are there no spelling errors? is the language simple, clear, and adapted to the target audience?
- graphic design: does it look nice?
- interface: is the product easy to use and can you navigate easliy?
- technology: compatability, security. Does it work on all devices?
- quality of learning: do your students have sufficient control over the learning process?
- didactics: does taking this course lead to a different behaviour, a better result?
- does it match with your target audience?
- Take time to reflect upon your own course.
